Narrated Ibn Masud:

I heard the Prophet saying, "There is no envy except in two: a person whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it in the right way, and a person whom Allah has given wisdom (i.e. religious knowledge) and he gives his decisions accordingly and teaches it to the others." (Sahih Bukhari)

Oh Allah, Increase us in Knowledge

Assallamu Alaikum Wa Ruhmut Allahi Wa Barakatu

Masjid Al Islam School Curriculum covers Preschool to 8th grade. MAIS includes Islamic Studies, Arabic, Math, Language Arts, Reading, Science, Social Studies, Arts & Crafts, Drama, and Physical Education and Health. Classes are dividedaccording to gender when possible, and receses are taken seperately in the 4th-8th grades. We strive to maintain a high academic level from the earliest age.

The importance of education cannot be stressed enough. It is through community settings such as Muslim schools that our children are given the opportunity to interact with other Muslim children. More important, it is through the guidance and training provided by our staff, that our students receive support and encouragement in their Islamic way of life. Our goal is to prepare them to be members, of a strong Ummah (Islamic Community) in the years to come, with the ability to accept the good and beneficial things in this life and to avoid corrupt and misleading influences.

Islam is integrated in all areas of learning and behavior. Parents should bear in mind that Islam is not only a part of the curriculum, but it is the essence of the school's being. Appropiate Hadith (sayings of the Prophet Muhammad) Peace be upon him, Dua's (supplications to Allah), Fiqh (law), and Seerah (history) are integrated into all subjects in as many ways as possible to reinforce the Deen (way of life) of Islam. When the curriculum is integrated and balanced, with clear and concise theme underlying all of the information being taught, the child receives the maximum benefit.
